Food Safety Works, participated in the talk organized by Consumer Care Society, Bangalore on 9th of June to celebrate World Food Safety Day. Among the speakers were Ms. Kamala Bai, KAS, Deputy Commissioner (Squad), FSSAI Karnataka, Ms. Sarika Agarwal, MD, Food Safety Works, Bangalore and Dr. Ganesh H, DO, Bangalore West. The event was presided over by Mr. Gopal Ratnam, Secretary, Consumer Care Society, Bangalore.
Talking on the occasion, Ms. Kamala Bai shared the details of the various initiatives that are being taken by by FSSAI to ensure safe food for the consumers. Ms. Sarika talked about the various aspects of keeping food safe from the hazards. Taking the discussion further, Dr. Ganesh talked about the FLRS and the licensing schemes as well as the requirements to get a licensing including the requirement for an FSMS plan. Closing the discussion, Mr. Gopal highlighted how Food Safety is not just everyone’s business but also everyone’s responsibility. The Food Safety on Wheels was also there at the venue for the participants to see and try out some of the tests to detect common adulterants.
