Fun Times @ FoodSafetyWorks

“Never get so busy making a living that you forget to make a life”

We make sure that the everyone gets their dose of fun. When the team went for a outing, it was all about activities , food and music. We chose a place close to nature with tent stay under the sky, just outside the city. Welcomed with refreshing drinks we started our fun filled day with rope climbing and rock climbing with lots of cheering and engaging in banter followed by giggles. Our second activity was rappelling which gave a sneak peek at our fitness levels. People who have a fear of height were up for a special treat and they all rose up and conquered their fears.

Served with warm healthy food for lunch we continued the day for a fun filled kayaking and zip line experience landing in water and floating our way out. After a brief freshen up session and evening high tea we went on to dance our hearts out with a bon fire ignoring the two left feet and swaying to music till the soles hurt but soul felt happy. At the end of the long fruitful day the tired body needed the much awaited rest in our little tents allotted with a partner, we slept listening to some soothing music and woke to the sound of birds chirping amidst lush green trees, clear blue sky and lake.

We started the early morning session with a 8km trek , 5 km uphill and 3km descent, it was indeed a route less taken, treacherous and worth every bit of the efforts to reach the peak. The view from the top was calming, serene and enthralling all at the same time, the feeling of finally reaching the top gave a high. Then as we started our descend after capturing the view from top, began the adventurous/funny memory part where a bunch from our team got lost and we couldn’t reach them due to lack of connectivity/network. Now who would want to go back uphill to find them 🙂 . Finally Ramesh came to the rescue and did what needed to be done, going back in search of the lost people, to find them struggling with route in the hilly greenery. The wait for lost and found members seem to be last for ever. As we started we realized the way was short but it was steep climb down the hill. Folks who have any hiking experience would know that climbing down a steep slope can be harder than climbing up. Some of the folks did a slide almost leading to a roll. And just when we thought we had done it all, a team member twisted her ankle, nothing major but enough to put her out of action for a week or two.

After the long trek we ate some heavy breakfast , that satiated the much hungry growling tummies, post which we left for our homes with loads of memories and experiences and bonding with the team.
