Amendment of Labelling Requirements of Multi Sourced Edible Vegetable Oils
On 10th Nov 2020 FSSAI has published notifications about a draft regulations for labelling requirements of edible vegetable oil. The major changes are:
Physically Refined Rice Bran Oil used as one of the ingredients in Vanaspati, shall be declared in the ingredient list on the label as “Physically Refined Rice Bran Oil‟.
Admixture of edible oils must have this declaration on the label
MULTI-SOURCED EDIBLE VEGETABLE OILS
(Name and nature* of edible vegetable oil) ……………………..% by weight (Name and nature* of edible vegetable oil)………………………% by weight
Font size of the declaration depends on the pack size.
