Through a letter dated 7th December 2020, FSSAI has permitted the use of food color Allura Red in the food category 14.2.6 Distilled Spirituous Beverages, except for the country liquors up to 100 mg/kg. The expert panel has also rejected the use of combination of food colors permitted in the earlier direction. For more information read here.
