FSSAI has released an order dated 26th March 2021, according to which no person should manufacture, sell or exhibit for sale packaged drinking water and Mineral water without the Bureau of Indian Standards Certification Mark.
In order to ensure compliance with BIS certification Mark, it has been decided to make BIS License a pre-condition for obtaining License for the manufacturers of Packaged Drinking Water and Mineral Water. BIS license has become mandatory for application and renewal of license, which has come into effect from 1st April 2021.
