On April 20th, 2021, (FSSAI) issued a direction pertaining to the continuity of food business operations during the prevailing COVID-19 outbreak.
FSSAI has taken immediate steps to ensure that food services / supply is uninterrupted during the current scenario.
The regulator has provided direction to FBOs regarding the renewal of FSSAI License, deadline for returns, upscaling of production irrespective of regulatory approvals and much more. Read the complete direction here.
This order will be implemented with immediate effect and will cease w.e.f. 30.06.2021 irrespective of the status of lockdown/ curfew/ containment at any location.
FSSAI has also instructed all States to ensure that there is no disruption of food supply chain. The direction has also ensured that regulatory compliance requirements does not become a hindrance for operation of any food business.
