FSSAI Mandates Mentioning of License / Registration number on Bills
In an order dated 8th June 2021, FSSAI has mandated the mentioning of FSSAI License/ Registration number on Invoices/ Receipts / Cash Memo / Bills for all food businesses wef 1st October 2021.
At present, FSSAI license number is compulsory to be displayed on labels of packaged foods. Restaurants are also required to display their licenses at prominent places on a display board.
The authority has now mandated to display the 14 digit License/ Registration number on invoices/ Receipts / Cash Memo / Bills etc. for all food businesses.
This enables the consumer to not only have access to information about the particular food business, but also lodge an online complaint against the food business by using the FSSAI number.
