On 19th July 2021, FSSAI released an order regarding Food Category for Registration/ Licensing of FBOs manufacturing Indian Sweets and Snacks & Savouries.
Various small and medium scale manufacturers/ packers of Indian Sweets and Snacks & Savouries products faced difficulties while doing registration/ Licensing of their food business due to unavailability of standards of these products under Food Safety and Standards Regulations.
In order to ease out the process for such small and medium food businesses, FSSAI has included a new Food Product Category 18 for Indian Sweets and Indian Snacks & Savouries .
