Food Safety Works in Partnership with KFC's India Shayog, Bengaluru

The India Sahyog program was conducted by Food Safety Works in association with KFC, Bengaluru on the 22nd and 23rd of July.

The program was organized to help 100 small and budding restaurants, hotels and cloud kitchens across Bengaluru to understand the importance of food safety and hygiene and help them come out of the pandemic. The programs were conducted online on the 22nd and 23rd of July.

On 22nd of July, the session was Inaugurated at 11AM by the panelists and the chief guests. Dr Aman Gupta, National Head CA welcomed the guests and Mr Chandan Kumar Tiwari, COO KFC India did special addressing to everyone. Followed by Mr Rajat Luthra, CEO Devyani International Ltd outlined the program agenda and our Chief Guest of the program Smt Leelavathi K, IAS. Commissioner Food Safety, GoK addressed the importance of this initiative and Training through her appreciation. She talks about the importance of the Food Safety and how it becomes everybody’s responsibility to deliver safe food from farm to plate. She also mentions some of the responsibilities like Eat Right India Movement taken up by the department of Food Safety, GoK.

Followed by which Mr Prakul kumar, NRAI Secretary General addressed to the issues being faced in the Food Industry and the ways to tackle them. He further mentioned on how KFC’s India Sahyog Program was rooting to help out the restaurants and hotel businesses to cope up with it during these rough pandemic times.

Program Agenda

As a part of the program, a Business Module Training  was offered by the KFC Leaders on 22nd July for 3 hours, 2PM- 5PM. Some of the very interesting and the most vital topics were covered during the training. Firstly, Mr Deepak Gahlawat, KFC India started off with Customer Experience Enhancement for 1 hour and took some interesting questions by the restaurateurs and hoteliers. Followed by Ms Shipra Bhatt, KFC India delivered the talk on Delivery/ Take away modules and shed some light on how important it is to every restaurateurs during the pandemic. Then came the most interesting topic of all, the Profitability Training by Mr Lalit Marwah, KFC India.
All of the modules were flooded with plenty of interesting questions by the growing and enthusiast Restaurateurs, Hoteliers and Caterers with the zest of surviving and improving their business during these tough times.

Followed by the next day, was the FoSTaC Training program conducted by Food Safety Works, Bengaluru with more than 100 Restaurateurs registered upon interest. Ms Sarika Agarwal, Prinicipal Consultant/ Managing Director at Food Safety Works was the FoSTaC trainer for the Advanced Catering. The session was filled with the budding and highly enthusiastic restaurateurs and caterers, to improve and implement the Food Safety systems into their Businesses. It didn’t take too long for these restaurateurs to realize that implementing Food Safety Standards into their business would let them grow higher.

On completing the course successfully with a test, every participant received a FoSTaC certificate from FSSAI and are now eligible to receive a one time sanitization to their entire restaurant/outlet.
