Through a letter dated November 16th 2021, FSSAI has clarified the conditions for the use of nutrient function claims and other claims on Multi Source Edible Oil (MSEO). In case of blended oils , claims made are now restricted only to the major component of the blend. If the MSEO contains two different oils in equal proportion, only those nutrient claims that are common to both the oils can be made.
