On 13th January 2022, FSSAI has released an order regarding the use of names of probiotics specified under FSS (Health Supplements, Nutraceuticals, Food for Special Dietary Use, Food for Special Medical Purpose, Functional Food and Novel Food) first Amendment Regulations, 2021. It has been decided to allow the use of either the old or new names of probiotic microorganisms for the product packaging.
