FSSAI Direction: Re-operationalization of FSS(Licensing and Registration of Food Business) Amendment Regulations, 2021
On 24th June 2022. FSSAI issued a direction regarding re-operationalization of Food Safety and Standards (Licensing and Registration of Food Business) Amendment Regulations, 2021, with effect from 12.05.2022. The FBOs shall follow the revised regulations and the enforcement of these regulations shall commence only after the final regulations are notified in the Gazette of India. FBOs not complying with Schedule 4 requirements may be issued Improvement Notices. The regulations have amendments in licensing and registration of E-Commerce food business operator, new license application and license conditions for restaurants and Schedule 4 requirements.
