On 6th January 2023, FSSAI issued a direction regarding the re-operationalization of Food Safety and Standards (Labelling and Display) Amendment Regulations, 2022. The changes were related to the labelling requirements of non-retail containers, fortified foods, minimally processed products, tolerance limits of nutrients, legible/ audible warning statements for pan masala, a declaration with respect to table-top sweeteners, etc. The provisions of these draft amendment regulations are re-operationalised with effect from 01.01.2023.
