On 11th January 2023, FSSAI issued a gazette notification regarding Food Safety and Standards (Food Product Standards and Food Additives) First Amendment Regulations, 2023. The amendments are regarding general standards for Milk and Milk products, standards for fermented milk products, Foods for Infant nutrition, Standards for Basmati rice & blended rice, the limit of formaldehyde for different species of fish, Food additives, Processing aids and Enzymes used in Food products. These amendments will come into force on 1st August 2023, except for the amendment regarding the limit of formaldehyde which will come into effect on 11th January 2023.
