On 21st February 2023, FSSAI issued a Gazette notification on Food Safety and Standards (Food Product Standards and Food Additives) Regulations, 2023 and it will come into effect on 1st September 2023. The amendments are related to the Fat & SNF content of Goat milk, Sheep milk, the Absorbency of different variants of Olive oil, standard specification for Moringa oil, solvent-extracted crude vegetable oil, Desiccated coconut, Wheat flour (Atta) and Resultant Wheat Flour (Resultant Atta), Whole or dehulled millets, triticale, Papad, Dried sweet marjoram, Steviol glycosides from Stevia Rebaudiana Bertoni, Food additives of certain food categories, Microbiological standards for Health Supplements, Nutraceuticals, Food for Special Dietary Use, Food for Special Medical Purpose, Functional Food and Novel Food.
