On 12th May 2023, FSSAI issued an order to enforce the FSS Act, 2006, and Rules/Regulations made under it regarding FBO having central licenses. The Food Authority and the State Food Safety Authority will enforce this Act. The Act specifies that the orders are provided for giving assistance and information to any authority by any authority concerned in the administration of the regulations or charges, or any provision of this Act. The said instruction with respect to enforcement of FSSA, 2006 & Rules/Regulations needs to be consolidated and clarified to avoid any confusion. Some Directions are made to ensure effective enforcement of FSS Act 2006, and Rules /Regulations.
