On 12th July 2023, FSSAI issued a direction regarding the abeyance of the provision of the amendment regulations relating to the use of the term ‘Dahi’ primarily in the nomenclature of the fermented milk products and optionally together with any other designation (prevalent regional common name) on the label. These provisions are to be enforced w.r.t 01.08.2023, however based on the representations received from various stakeholders, the same is under review by the FSSAI and is kept in abeyance until further orders.
