On 30th August 2022, FSSAI published Food Safety and Standards (Foods for Infant Nutrition) First Amendment Regulations, 2022. These amendments will come into effect from 1st October 2022. The amendments include the revision of requirement of Vitamin B12, condition for naming product as “Infant Milk Food” and recommended maximum level of usage of packaging gases (Carbon dioxide and Nitrogen) in the product.
