On 22nd April 2022, FSSAI issued a letter regarding a special drive to ensure BIS Certification for all manufacturers of Packaged Drinking Water (PDW) and Mineral Water (MW), for sale in India. FBOs can upload their BIS license on the FoSCoS portal at the time of applying for a new license or furnish its details in online Annual Returns available in FoSCoS. FSSAI may issue notices to the non-complying FBOs to furnish a valid BIS Certificate within a specified period, failing which the license may be canceled/ suspended.
