On 28th October 2022, FSSAI issued an order regarding clarification with respect to Hops imported to India, for use as an ingredient in manufacturing beer. It is stated that the imported ‘Hops pellets’ shall conform to the limits of copper (max. 1000 ppm) as specified by EFSA as well as other FSSAI standards.
