World Food Safety Day 2020

The second World Food Safety Day (WFSD) will be celebrated on 7 June 2020 to draw attention and inspire action to help prevent, detect and manage foodborne risks, contributing to food security, human health, economic prosperity, agriculture, market access, tourism and sustainable development. This assumes special significance in light of the current COVID19 pandemic.

To mark this day we are organizing webinars and training through the month. The highlight is the panel discussion where we talk about “The changing frontiers in Food Safety” with an illustrious panel from academia and the industry. This session is scheduled for 10th of June from 11AM to 12PM

Balkumar comes with an extensive experience of over 30 years in the industry with close to 25 years at Unilever.
He has been a key player in building bridges with the external scientific world as well as Government and Civil Society. He comes with a diverse background of advocacy, influencing and advisory activities.

Anusha is the co-Founder of Smoodies, a wellness beverages brand that stands for good nutrition, great taste and uncompromising brand values. Smoodies started thinking Food Safety from the time of their conception and integrated the same into their plant design as well. They are an ISO22000 certified company

Sarika, started Food Safety Works with the goal of creating a world class knowledge organization that helps FBOs implement Food Safety Management Systems. She has over 15 years of experience in the space and been instrumental in implementing FSMS at over 50 client locations helping them comply with standards like HACCP, ISO22000, FSSC22000, BRC and FSMA.

On the 9th, the session talks about DART, Detecting Adulteration through Rapid Tests, followed by a session on Fighting malnutrition through fortification which happens on the 11th of June.
